Pappu gaarelu/ Parippu vada.
Telangana has a cherished tradition that involves using authentic pure spices to create a flavorful and crispy snack. Originating from Telangana, pappu gaarelu also known as parippu vada are deep-fried rice flour crackers made with soaked split black-eyed peas (bebbari pappu) and a blend of traditional spices. The spices are carefully selected and balanced to bring out the genuine taste of Telangana's culinary heritage. These snacks are prepared by mixing rice flour and the soaked lentils with spices and hot water to form a soft dough. Shaped usually in circular form, fluffy at the center with tapering ends are then deep-fried to a perfect golden-brown crispiness, offering a delightful combination of spice and texture that is beloved in Telangana and elsewhere households. Pappu gaarelu or Parippu vada are often enjoyed along with tea or chicken where every bite delivers a burst of flavors in the mouth.
